Orientation Programme

Students will be provided with a proper orientation process through the School's administration, English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) department and the Homestay Manager.

Students will be met at the airport by a representative of the school i.e. the Homestay Manager and the homestay family where this is possible.

An orientation programme will be provided which includes the following:

  • Familiarisation with the school layout, systems and resources.
  • Introduction to a 'buddy' student who will help with orientation during the first weeks as a new student.
  • Orientation to local systems, e.g. transport, banking, etc.
  • Introduction to school rules, procedures, counselling, support systems.
  • Academic planning
  • Access to the internet
  • ID Card
  • Provision of school stationery lists
  • School Diary
  • Assistance in arranging the purchase of school uniform.

English Language Proficiency

All students at Marsden learn in a supportive environment. Individual tutoring as well as support in academic subjects is provided. The Teacher in Charge of this programme will decide how much language support and tuition is required. International students are entitled to one lesson per week of small group or individual English language tuition.
