Annual Scholarships Available at Karori
Years 7-9 Entrance Scholarships
Excellence Scholarships are available to students entering Year 7 and 9 in the following year. These scholarships are aimed at talented students and are awarded on the basis of examinations in June and a subsequent interview with the Principal for those who are short-listed. All applicants will be notified in writing when the Scholarships have been awarded.

Year 7 Excellence Scholarship - Academic
The Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded for three years and provides 50% of tuition fees. Applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination.
Year 9 Excellence Scholarship - Academic
The Year 9 Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded for five years and provides 50% of tuition fees.
Applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae.
Year 9 Excellence Scholarship - Cultural or Sporting
The Year 9 Cultural Excellence Scholarship and the Year 9 Sporting Excellence Scholarship are awarded for at least 3 years and provide for 50% of tuition fees.
Applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae.
In addition, Cultural applicants are required to submit a recording (up to 5 minutes long) of relevant performance and may be required to audition.
The Marsden Old Girls’ Association Scholarship
The Marsden Old Girls' Association offers a Scholarship to girls who are daughters, granddaughters or great-granddaughters of Old Girls wishing to enter Year 9. The Scholarship is for 50% of tuition fees (excluding GST) over three years.
Applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae.
Ministry of Education Aspire Scholarship
The Aspire Scholarship provides assistance for low income families towards the cost of private secondary schooling. It will contribute up to $15,000 per year towards tuition fees of a private school for the duration of the student’s attendance. It will also include a yearly allowance of up to $1,500 for course related costs.

Senior School Scholarships
The Senior School Scholarship (the Helen Davidson Award)
The Senior School Scholarship may be awarded to girls in Year 12 who are not currently students at Marsden. This Scholarship provides 50% tuition fees over a period of two years. The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of an application to the Principal.

The Gwyn and Kelvin Day Scholarship
This Scholarship may be awarded by the Principal to a student already attending Marsden, whose family is experiencing short term financial hardship. Please contact the Principal.
The Nell Clere Music Scholarship
Awarded by the Old Girls' Association on the basis of performance at the annual Betty Swainson Memorial Concert, this Scholarship assists with Music Tuition. Marsden students in Years 7 to 12, learning music outside the School as well as those learning at Marsden are eligible. Please contact Mrs Marian Campbell, Director of Music.
