JONATHAN CREHAN, ATCL, AmusTCL, Bmus (Victoria) - COMPOSITION/THEORY
In 2004 Jonathan Crehan completed his AmusTCL diploma for Music Theory and Criticism. He achieved a Bachelor of Music at Victoria University in 2007, which included the study of advanced theory and analysis for classical and electronic music. In 2008 Jonathan studied advanced harmonic practices privately with the esteemed conductor and composer, Sir William Southgate.
Jonathan has had many performances of his compositions, notable examples being at the Juillard School of Music in New York and at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore. He was the winner of the 7th ADAM International Cello Festival Young Composer Competition in 2008. Jonathan also won the Orpheus Publications Composer Competition in Australia.
As a teacher, Jonathan enjoys finding practical ways of exploring musical concepts with his students. His unique approach makes lessons creative and inspirational. Jonathan is open to help with all levels of development and requirements.
