TYSON SMITH - GUITAR

Tyson Smith is a guitarist/singer/songwriter originally from Manuka Bay in North Canterbury but now based in Wellington. He is a graduate of the Christchurch Jazz School and has travelled extensively, soaking up influences in Cuba, Central America, Europe and the U.S.A, most notably New York City where he took lessons from some of the city's highly acclaimed guitarists including Mike Stern and John Abercrombie.

As well as discernable influences from his travels, Tyson's music encorporates blues, funk, jazz, rock and world music elements. In 2010 he released his debut album "There’s Nothing We Can’t Pretend".
