Senior School
Years 12 and 13
The Senior School offers students a stimulating and adult environment where they are expected to be self-motivated and disciplined.
Marsden concentrates on preparing the girls for tertiary education and the world beyond.
Lectures, seminars, tutorials and lunch hour addresses by visiting speakers introduce the students to tertiary teaching styles.
The girls have a slightly different uniform and their own Common Room with cooking and study facilities.
All Year 13 students have leadership positions at Marsden and these are taken seriously. Students run sports, charity fundraising, social activities and musical competitions, learning to extend themselves in their particular field.
Guidance is provided in their career choices and in selecting hostels at universities thoughout New Zealand.
The end of year formal Marsden Leavers' Ball at the Wellington Town Hall is a sparkling highlight for the girls, their families and the Marsden staff who have cared for them.
