Music

The school has many fine and enthusiastic young musicians.

Performance music classes started last year and are very popular with the musicians and the students around them.  The Art students next door are treated to live performances of classical music, jazz and pop music.  Credits are gained in Performance Music for NCEA.

Our choir, Greensleeves, is a weekly singing group for students who lead in church services, sing for a local retirement home and represented Marsden Whitby in the Big Sing regional competition for the first time in 2009.

We have an inter-house music competition each year which is anticipated with excitement.
