The Great Electronic Easter Treasure Hunt

Results from The Great Electronic Easter Treasure Hunt - organised by the Marsden Whitby Parent's Assocation - Sunday 28 March 2010

Sixteen teams competed for an exciting collection of prizes on a beautiful sunny Sunday. As well as an advanced course we ran a beginners course which suited those teams with small children and those who wanted to complete a shorter course.

This year's theme was Easter and the caches were small fluorescent eggs which contained clues to the quiz that needed to be answered along the course.

Many of the advanced teams brought their own GPS units, but for those who did not have one, Google Maps were provided. Advice on how to operate your GPS was also available to those who are new to geocaching.

Results:
Beginners:Amigos in 70 minutes - Whitby student Keat Beamsley (Y8) was awarded 10 house points
Advanced:The House of Ed Team in 71 minutes
Best Team Spirit:The girls from the "We're on a Hairless Cat Team", led by Katie Holcroft, dressed in fluorescent colours
Lucky Egg Draw for a $50 voucher from the Crow’s Nest Restaurant:We're on a Hairless Cat Team
Spot Prizes:The Sneakers picked up a spot prize for being the last team to finish while the Marsdeneers received some chocolate for their superb efforts in collecting rubbish which included a large road cone.

It was great to see so many people enjoying the Whitby walkways and learning more about the sport of geocaching. A substantial amount of rubbish was collected on the day and a big thank you to everyone who supported the event.
