Jenny Williams has been leading Samuel Marsden Collegiate School since 2008. This is her third position as a Principal.
She is a member of the executive of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools, was on the organising committee for the 2014 Alliance of Girls Schools Conference and has been a mentor in the First Time Principals Programme. She is also a member of the Competency Advisory Group for the Education Council.
Jenny’s teaching background is in science and mathematics and includes posts in Tasmania, New South Wales and Singapore.
Before her appointment to Marsden, Jenny was formerly Head of All Saints' College, a co-educational Anglican Day and Boarding School for Preschool to Y12 in Bathurst, New South Wales. Incidentally All Saints' College was co-founded by Bishop Samuel Marsden after whom Samuel Marsden Collegiate School was named in 1920.
During this time she was also Chair of Heads of Independent Co-educational Schools, President of the Western Area Schools Sporting Association, a member of the executive of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia and an Accredited Investigator for Child Protection.
Prior to that she was Head at Snowy Mountains Grammar School, also a co-educational Anglican School (Day and Boarding) in Jindabyne NSW.
A Healthly Lifestyle
Jenny is passionate about a healthy lifestyle – keeping fit by cycling and going to the gym and eating good food. She loves to spend time with her family, including her two dogs. Jenny reads, cooks and travels – when she finds time.
