'Give 'em the old razzle dazzle'
Students are currently in rehearsals and will be bringing plenty of 'razzle dazzle' to the stage when they perform Marsden's 2021 production of Chicago–the High School Edition to audiences in May.
Tuesday 25 May, Wednesday 26 May, Thursday 27 May & Friday 28 May at 7:30pm at Marsden
Chicago - the High School Edition is a satirical look at fame, justice, and the media machine. Set in 1920s Chicago, it follows Roxie Hart, a wannabe vaudevillian star who murders her lover and is arrested, despite her attempts to convince her pushover husband, Amos, to lie for her. In jail, Roxie meets the famed double-murderess and nightclub performer Velma Kelly. When both acquire the same lawyer, tensions come to a head as they vie for the spotlight.
Featuring the hit songs “All That Jazz”, “Roxie”, “When You’re Good to Mama”, “Razzle Dazzle” and of course “Cell Block Tango”, Marsden's Chicago–the High School Edition is sure to be a great night of entertainment.
