Bianca Andrew – Mezzo Soprano

Marsden Graduate 2007

Bianca Andrew is considered one of New Zealand’s most promising young singers to emerge in recent years.

A consummate actress as well as a singer she is known for her engaging and creative performances in many genres from classical music to cabaret and music theatre.

She graduated from the NZ School of Music in 2011 with a Bachelor and Postgraduate Diploma of Music (Distinction) under the tutelage of Margaret Medlyn. Pursuing her dream of a career in opera, Bianca auditioned and was offered a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 2014 Bianca received a tuition grant from the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation which allowed her to move to London to commence an Artist Masters in vocal performance under the tutelage of Yvonne Kenny, graduating in 2017.

A passionate recitalist and lover of chamber music, Bianca was the winner of the 2016 Song Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards in London’s Wigmore Hall and was a finalist in the 2017 Guildhall School Gold Medal competition for singers.

International study is an essential stepping stone for developing an international career and we are delighted to be able to support Bianca on her journey.
