MARKETING & CONTENT SPECIALIST

We are looking for an experienced and creative Marketing & Content Specialist to join our Advancement team.

 

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who is confident creating engaging content, supporting marketing campaigns and helping bring the Marsden story to life across digital, print and promotional channels.

 

Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will play an important role in strengthening Marsden’s profile, supporting enrolment and engagement activity, and ensuring our communications are polished, consistent and on-brand.

 

You will create content for our website, social media channels, publications and promotional materials, while also supporting the delivery of marketing campaigns, advertising activity, collateral, events and supplier coordination. The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, has excellent attention to detail, and is comfortable working across multiple projects in a busy school environment.

 

The successful applicant will bring strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, along with experience in marketing, communications, digital content or a related field. You will be confident creating content for websites and social media, supporting campaigns and promotional activity, and working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

 

Photography, videography and basic editing skills would be an advantage, along with experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, website content management systems, social media scheduling tools and analytics platforms.

 

We are looking for someone who is creative, proactive, highly organised and full of ideas, with a strong understanding of brand consistency and reputation management. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys building positive relationships and contributing to a collaborative team.

RECEPTION & ATTENDANCE ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a warm, professional and highly organised Reception & Attendance Administrator to join our team.

 

This is an important front-facing role at the heart of our school. As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors, you will help create a welcoming and professional first impression, while also providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.

 

A key focus of this role is the accurate management of student attendance. You will be responsible for monitoring daily attendance systems, following up unmarked rolls, running absence reports, and communicating with parents and caregivers to verify student whereabouts. With student safety and wellbeing at the centre of this work, the role requires excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to communicate calmly and confidently.

 

You will also support a wide range of reception and administrative tasks, including answering phone and email enquiries, assisting students, managing sign-in/sign-out processes, providing first aid support, processing mail, coordinating room and vehicle bookings, maintaining reception systems and supporting the wider operations team as needed.

PHILANTHROPY MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced and relationship-focused Philanthropy Manager to lead and grow philanthropic support for the school.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver a renewed fundraising programme at one of Wellington’s leading independent schools. Working closely with the principal, senior leaders, Advancement colleagues and any future Advancement Advisory Committee or equivalent fundraising/advisory group, the Philanthropy Manager will play a key role in building a sustainable culture of giving at Marsden.

 

This specialist fundraising role is donor-facing, relationship-led and outcomes-focused. It will suit a skilled fundraiser who can build meaningful relationships, develop compelling funding propositions, support senior-level donor conversations and secure philanthropic support aligned with the school’s strategic priorities.

 

About the role

 

The Philanthropy Manager is Marsden’s lead fundraising practitioner and will be responsible for developing and delivering a structured, strategic and relationship-based fundraising programme.

 

Key areas of focus include:

  • major gifts
  • gifts in wills
  • annual giving
  • trusts, foundations and grants
  • business partnerships and sponsorship
  • donor care, stewardship and recognition
  • donor pipeline and CRM management
  • capital campaign readiness
  • fundraising reporting and senior volunteer support.

 

A significant proportion of the role will be donor-facing, including meeting with donors, prospective donors, senior volunteers and key stakeholders to build relationships, qualify philanthropic interest and secure support.

 

About you

 

We are looking for an experienced relationship fundraiser with the ability to think strategically while delivering practical fundraising outcomes.

 

You will bring:

  • demonstrated success securing major gifts or philanthropic support
  • proven experience building, managing and stewarding donor or stakeholder relationships
  • confidence identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospective donors
  • strong donor stewardship and relationship management capability
  • experience developing donor propositions, proposals, impact communications and reports
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • sound judgement, discretion and professionalism
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects, projects and deadlines
  • experience using CRM or fundraising database systems
  • the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders, volunteers, donors, colleagues and community stakeholders.

 

Experience in an independent school, tertiary, education, not-for-profit or Advancement environment would be an advantage, as would experience in gifts in wills, annual giving, capital campaign readiness, trusts and grants, sponsorship or business partnerships.
