“I come from a family of strong, educated women with a fundamental belief in a well-rounded education,” she says.

“Marsden taught me about the value of hard work and perseverance, the importance of making conscious choices, settings one’s own standards, the need to have a positive self-image and trust your own judgement and intuition.”

Ask for some words of advice for Marsden students heading out into the big wide world, Dame Bronwen says, “The challenge is to find a balance between the nurturing responsibilities inevitably expected of us and our business or career imperatives. It’s important for women to get together for nourishment and support, to nurture our professional relationships and forums for exchanging ideas, and to tap into creativity – to balance the bread and roses in our lives.”
