Marsden 1968 - 1972

Old Girl Nicola Saker has this to say

Now, decades on from leaving Marsden, there are three things that stand out for me:

The first is that my good friends from those years are still my good friends. In some cases, friendships developed after leaving school. I have been in business with one; my family has shared holidays with others; we continue to meet up and continue the conversation. There aren’t many people who have known me as long as they have.

I have come to appreciate that Marsden was a vessel of female culture. All our role models were female. Our teachers were highly educated, intelligent women and we were taught how to think. I remember feeling grateful to the intellectual discipline they imposed when I started university study.

Finally, Katherine Mansfield! I have a longstanding fascination with this writer and feel a “I danced with a man, who's danced with a girl, who's danced with the Prince of Wales” connection by attending the same school.
