Years 7–13 Scholarships

Please read the Scholarship FAQs for information on scholarship requirements, procedures and terms and conditions. NB: Supporting documents are required to be uploaded at the time the scholarship application is submitted, please have them ready. Applications received without correct supporting documentation will not be considered.

 

Scholarships are listed by year level. All scholarships for entry in 2021 have closed. Applications for 2022 scholarships will open in February 2021.

 

Year 7

Year 7 Scholarship for Academic Excellence – CLOSED

The Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded for 3 years and provides between 25% – 50% of tuition fees. Available to new or current students, applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae

 

Years 7 to 13 Māori & Pasifika Scholarships – CLOSED

Scholarships are available to Māori and Pasifika students who seek a Marsden education, with entry at any level from Years 7 to 13. Applications are invited from new and current students who are actively participating in their culture and who would welcome the opportunity to share their skills and knowledge with the wider Marsden community. Providing between 25% – 50% tuition fees over the duration of her time at Marsden, this Scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Principal. Apply using Scholarship application button above.

Year 9

Year 9 Scholarship for Academic Excellence – CLOSED

The Year 9 Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded for 5 years and provides between 25% – 50% of tuition fees. Available to new or current students, applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae.

Year 9 Scholarship for Cultural or Sporting Excellence – CLOSED

The Year 9 Cultural Excellence or Sporting Excellence Scholarship is awarded for at least 3 years and provides between 25% – 50% of tuition fees. Available to new or current students, applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae. 

 

In addition

  • Year 9 Cultural Excellence applicants are required to submit a recording (up to 5 minutes long) of relevant performance on a CD/DVD, USB (in an acceptable file format) or online (eg: YouTube) NB: Live auditions do not form part of the application, although may be required at the Principal's discretion.
  • If Year 9 Sporting Excellence applicants are invited for an interview, they will be required to undergo a sports assessment on the same day.

 

Year 9 Marsden Old Girls’ Association Scholarship – CLOSED

The Marsden Old Girls' Association offers a Scholarship to girls who are daughters, granddaughters or great-granddaughters of Old Girls wishing to enter Year 9. This Scholarship provides 50% of tuition fees (excluding GST) over 3 years.  Available to new or current students, applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination and to provide a curriculum vitae.

 

Year 10 to 13

Excellence in Sports Scholarship – CLOSED

Marsden Karori offers Excellence in Sports scholarships to girls not currently attending Marsden who are considering entry in Years 10 to 13. If you have a proven record in netball, football, rowing, tennis or hockey and would like a Marsden education click here for more information. Consideration may be given to students excelling in other codes.

Years 11 to 12

Year 11–12 General Excellence Scholarship – CLOSED

This scholarship is available to girls not currently attending Marsden School and provides between 25% – 50% of tuition fees for 3 years (Year 11) and 2 years (Year 12). Applicants are required to provide a curriculum vitae.

Year 12 Senior School Scholarship (Helen Davidson Award) – CLOSED

The Helen Davidson Award (Senior School Scholarship) may be awarded to girls entering into Year 12 who are not currently students at Marsden. Providing between 25% – 50% tuition fees over 2 years, this Scholarship is awarded on the basis of an application to the Principal.

Also available

The Nell Clere Music Scholarship

Awarded by the Old Girls' Association on the basis of performance at the annual Betty Swainson Memorial Concert, this Scholarship assists with Music Tuition. Marsden students in Years 7 to 12, learning music outside the School as well as those learning at Marsden are eligible. Please contact Mrs Marian Campbell,  Director of Music.
