Financial Controller

Christine brings a balance of precision, strategy and heart to managing the financial pulse of the school.

As Marsden’s Financial Controller, Christine leads the school’s entire finance function to support the school’s long-term aspirations.

Christine has over 15 years of finance experience across professional services, media and higher education. She began her career in external audit at PwC and becoming a Chartered Accountant, before spending two years in London’s media industry, complete with red-carpet movie premieres. After returning to Wellington, she held finance roles at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Victoria University of Wellington before joining Marsden. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce alongside a Bachelor of Music in classical piano performance.

Christine was drawn to Marsden by its reputation as one of the country’s top 20 schools and by hearing firsthand from friends about the significant role it played in shaping their education, careers and lives beyond school.

It doesn’t take long to see how special the Marsden community is, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of it.

“Financial management is about more than keeping financial operations running smoothly. By continually improving and streamlining our processes, we free up valuable time to focus on strategic growth and the continued success for Marsden.”

The Marsden value that resonates the most with Christine is Hiranga | Excellence.

“I endeavour to carry out my responsibilities to a high standard and genuinely care about the work I do, which is why the Marsden value of Hiranga (excellence) resonates most with me.”

Outside Marsden, Christine and her husband are kept busy by their two children. She is also a full-marathon finisher who stays active through running, yoga and reformer pilates.
