Enrolment Registrar
Role and Responsibilities
Chunxiao is Marsden’s Enrolment Registrar, where she oversees the entire enrolment journey - from the first inquiry to welcoming students on their first day. She guides families every step of the way, ensuring the experience is warm, clear, and seamless. Chunxiao also manages student records and works closely with staff to support smooth transitions for new students into the Marsden whānau.
Background
Born in Dalian, China, Chunxiao holds a Master of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and is a qualified ESOL teacher, trained IB Chinese teacher, and holds secondary school teacher registration in China. With nearly 15 years of experience spanning preschool to universities, as well as roles in teaching and programme and enrolment management, Chunxiao brings a holistic understanding of student journeys.
Her teaching experience covers IB, NCEA, and Cambridge curricula, as well as pre-posting language training for New Zealand diplomats. This global perspective has affirmed her core belief: education is not about comparing systems but about finding the right fit for each individual student.
Approach and Contribution
Chunxiao loves connecting the dots and transforming moments of uncertainty into confidence for families. She views enrolment not as a simple process, but as a partnership built on trust and understanding.
Interests and hobbies
Outside of Marsden, Chunxiao enjoys time with her husband and two daughters. She also runs her own language studio, finding it deeply rewarding to see her students grow and discover how language can shape their thinking and lives. Language is Chunxiao’s lifelong passion; she cherishes the beauty and wisdom embedded within it and is inspired by how it connects and empowers people.
