Personal Insights

Manahau | Resilience is the Marsden value that resonates most with Vera. She believes that challenge is an essential part of learning and that helping students develop perseverance and confidence not only supports academic success but also prepares them for life beyond the classroom. Vera finds it most rewarding to see students grow in confidence and recognise their own capability.

Outside the classroom, Vera enjoys heading out for windy but refreshing walks—“uitwaaien,” as they say in Dutch. She loves exploring Wellington’s outdoors and spending quality time with her family.
