Marsden’s 2024 Variety Show was an unforgettable evening, brimming with talent, creativity, and enthusiasm. Hosted by Deputy Head Girl Cate Hughson, the event showcased a diverse range of performances, all conceptualised, staged, and executed by our talented students.
The night opened with a powerful ensemble performance of "Skid Row" from Little Shop of Horrors, setting an exciting tone. The show featured captivating acts, from Sai's piano solo "In Dreams" to Abigail's impressive Italian aria from Rinaldo.
Performances spanned a variety of genres and styles, including musical theatre numbers, duets, and classical ballet. Isabella wowed with “Tightrope” from The Greatest Showman, while Eleanor brought imagination to life through an acrobatic piece. Cate delivered a poignant monologue from The Pohutukawa Tree, and a high-energy hip hop dance performed by Tiantian, Telesia and Millie celebrated strength and empowerment. A beautiful "Siva Sāmoa", a Bharatanatyam dance by Lopa and Paloma, and a graceful long poi performance by Arabella added cultural richness to the evening.
Each performance was a unique expression of our students’ passions, making for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
