Today marked a momentous and emotional milestone for our 2025 Year 13 cohort, as they celebrated their final formal day at Marsden before heading off on study leave. It was a day filled with reflection, laughter, and celebration.
The morning began with a Communion Service, setting a thoughtful tone for the day ahead. This was followed by a shared breakfast for Year 13 students and their families, where stories, memories, and plenty of laughter flowed as everyone looked back on the journeys that have shaped their time at Marsden.
During Period 1, the school gathered for the much-anticipated Leadership Handover Assembly. In keeping with Marsden tradition, the 2025 student leadership team formally passed on their roles to the newly appointed 2026 Head Students’ Committee. It was a proud and symbolic moment as outgoing leaders presented flowers — and, of course, the iconic House Captain costumes — to their successors, marking the beginning of a new chapter in student leadership.

The celebrations continued for our Year 13s throughout the day, with a slip n' slide, strawberries and ice cream for morning tea (courtesy of Old Girls on staff), a farewell assembly that beautifully reflected friendship, leadership and Marsden whanaungatanga, and a celebratory BBQ lunch with their tutors.
As the day drew to a close, there was a strong sense of pride and connection across the school. The Year 13s’ final day served as both a celebration of their achievements and a reminder of the lifelong bonds formed within the Marsden community. Though they now move on to new adventures, they will always remain a cherished part of the Marsden whānau.
Our 2025 Year 13s leave behind a legacy of kindness, leadership, and service, and we could not be prouder of all they have accomplished.
Congratulations once again to the 2026 Head Students’ Committee. We look forward to seeing your leadership, creativity, and vision flourish in the year ahead.
