NZ Scholarship Exams

New Zealand Scholarship exams are set by NZQA and occur at the same time as NCEA. They are targeted at high achieving Level 3 students, promote independent study and thinking and extend our most able students. You can learn more about Scholarship here.

Monetary Awards

There are significant monetary awards for tertiary study, at a New Zealand university, through success in Scholarship exams. You can read about the monetary awards here.

Preparation for Scholarship Exams

At Marsden preparation for Scholarship may occur in some regular classes, through tutorials outside of class or through online material generated by your teacher. A Scholarship candidate needs to show initiative, an ability to pursue independent research and a true engagement with the subject. Preparation for Scholarship should light some personal fires, generate curiosity and a desire to read around set material. It should be rewarding.
