English Teacher

Part time Permanent – Start date: Term 1 2022

At Marsden we seek an enthusiastic part-time English teacher to join our vibrant and innovative English department. The position is approximately .6, commencing in Term 1, 2022.

Marsden is an independent school for girls in Wellington with a school culture of excellence and an emphasis on student and staff wellbeing. The ideal applicant will support and challenge our students to think critically and creatively and make the most of their potential.

Confidence in the curriculum and English teacher experience to teach senior levels up to Yr13 is highly desirable.

Artist in Residence 2022

Samuel Marsden Collegiate School established an Artist in Residence Programme in 1999. The purpose of the residency is to have Visual Art students within the Department of Art and Design gain experience of the working process of practicing artists through working alongside them for a period of time.

 

The school offers for the duration of the Residency, a stipend, studio work space and contact with students both through classroom workshops and critiques, all of which will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

 

The length of the residency is five to six weeks. In 2022 it is anticipated that the residency will run in school term two. Specific dates may be negotiated.

 

At the completion of the residency, an exhibition of work created will be held at the Academy of Fine Arts at Queen’s Wharf.

 

Applications are invited from artists working in or across any of the traditional mediums of Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Photography or Design. It is expected the person taking up the residency will be a practicing artist who is emerging or established within New Zealand or Australia.

Food Technology Teacher

Secondary (Years 7–13) Full/Part-time, permanent commencing 26 January, 2022

At Marsden we seek an enthusiastic and innovative Food and Nutrition (Home Economics) and Food Technology teacher to join our vibrant Technology department. Flexibility to also teach another subject is useful, or part time may be considered.  Marsden is an independent school for girls in Wellington with a school culture of excellence and an emphasis on student and staff wellbeing. The ideal applicant will support and challenge our students to think critically and creatively and make the most of their potential.

 Confidence and skills to teach from Years 7 to 13 is sought.
