School Fees

Samuel Marsden Collegiate School is a charitable trust, and our Board sets fees at the lowest possible level to cover costs without eroding the high standards of tuition and facilities for which Marsden has become known. The Board reserves the right to vary fees at its discretion.

All fees are stated in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax of 15%.

  • All fees are inclusive of GST.
  • The Year 13 Levy instalments cover the costs of compulsory events for students in Year 13.  This includes: leadership camp, special breakfasts and lunches and the Ball levy, which covers four tickets to the Leavers’ Ball. We are reviewing the structure of this event; should the cost of ball tickets be less than budgeted, parents will receive a refund. The instalments introduced to cover leavers’ activities have been introduced at the request of parents so that these expenses can be distributed throughout the year.
  • Levies include funding for our buildings, IT, sport and fixed costs.
  • Lifelong membership of the Marsden Old Girls’ Association will be conferred on all Year 1-13 students from their date of enrolment, for a one-off fee of $350.00.
  • A sibling discount is available see details below.
  • The Preschool fee is based on the assumption that parents have opted to take up the Government 20 hours Free ECE Subsidy which is capped at a maximum of 6hrs per day and a total of 20hrs per week.  Marsden Preschool runs during school term times only.

Additional Costs

Additional costs are charged for incidental items such as class trips, photographs, Marsden Yearbook (Te Kura), sports activities, outdoor education and specialist subject costs.

Sibling Discounts – Marsden Year 1-13 only (excludes Preschool/International)

A 20% discount on tuition fees is available to families for the third and youngest child when all are current students at Marsden (excluding Preschool and International students).

For further details please contact our Chief Operating Officer, Hilary Fiennes.

Referral Scheme

We recognise and humbly acknowledge that members of the Marsden community are our greatest ambassadors.  Research has shown that the predominant reason influencing the decision families make to send their daughters to Marsden is the recommendation of parents of students, past and present, and alumnae of the school.  In gratitude for this, the Board are pleased to announce the provision of financial recompense of $500 to Marsden families who refer other families from their own networks to attend Marsden next year.  The financial recompense will be made by way of a fee reduction of $500 on the fourth term’s fees, 2023. In addition, families joining Marsden as a result of a referral from a current Marsden family will receive uniform vouchers to the value of $500.
