Nostalgia and pride on Old Girls' Day
Old Girls Day on Friday was a nostalgic occasion for returning Old Girls and a proud day for existing students and staff, celebrating the old traditions and the new at a special assembly, morning tea, school tours and an evening dinner.
Marsden's Altissime Choir, the school orchestra and handbell group all performed beautifully at assembly. Cassandra Treadwell, Old Girl, founder of So They Can, was our inspirational guest speaker.
We also celebrated the induction of four new laureates into the Marsden Hall of Fame. Noeline Baker, Lady June Blundell, Shirley Tonkin and Cassandra Treadwell. Two of these awards were made posthumously, and it was lovely to have Sally Winstone for Lady Jane Blundell (daughter and Old Girl) and Jenny Henton (on behalf of Noeline Baker) with us. More details here.
We do love catching up with our Old Girls, hearing their news and having the opportunity to show them around the school. We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did!
