Volunteers recognised

Hygiene for Homeless, co-founded by Marsden Whitby student Katie Daly and Karori student Lily Marsh, picked up the Rising Star Award at the Wellington City Community Awards last week!

The annual event celebrates volunteering and the contribution made by hundreds of people every year in and around Wellington – recognising those who are making a difference in our communities across the arts, heritage, and environment.

Mayor, Justin Lester said it was "exciting to see the Rising Star award celebrating new and innovative approaches, recognising new volunteering initiatives like the work of Hygiene for Homeless – providing women in need in the Wellington region with hygiene packs including deodorants, toothbrushes, toothpaste and sanitary items.”

Congratulations girls! You have done a wonderful thing and continue to make a real difference in people's lives.
