Hard work at Summer Camp paid off

Lake Karapiro rowing success and a Gold medal for our Head of Rowing...all the hard work at Summer Camp paid off.

The Marsden rowing squad had a fantastic regatta with rowers in 1 x A Final and 4 x B Finals at the KR2 regatta over the weekend; Our U15 Octuple came 2nd in their A Final - Well done to Cox Evie Bond, Madison Taylor, Charlotte Brownlee, Annabel Walsh, Georgia Rich, Emily Suhr, Leila Barber, Jill Allen and Alex Speer. Some girls had their first races in singles and doubles and others got some helpful tips from Olympian Eric Murray!

Head of Rowing Ruby Leverington was 2nd in the U18 Single sculls B final. Ruby also stayed on to compete at the North Island Club Champs racing in the Womens coxless quad sculls with our awesome rowing coach Rachel Gamble-Flint. They went through heats (1st) to the semi-finals (1st) and then WON the final to get gold medals - what Champions. And Ruby was in 2 other A Finals also - what a way to start 2017!
