Lean forward, don't stand back

Marsden Karori senior students shared breakfast with some very special women via live streaming this morning as part of the International Women's Day Breakfast at Parliament.

You couldn't hear a pin drop the girls were so intent on the interview with Dr Gill Greer and the Rt Hon Helen Clark, who was honoured with an Zonta International Lifetime Achievement Award. Her message was for women to lean forward not stand back, to never give up and to know that enough small acts can add up to make a big difference.

The Governor General Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy spoke as did Minister for Women, Julie Anne Genter, and the Manawa Ora Women's Choir sang "I Can't Keep Quiet" in Te Reo.

Thank you to the UN Women National Committee Aotearoa NZ and the Zonta Club of Wellington for the live broadcast and a super empowering start to the day!
