A warm Marsden welcome to our new Sports Coordinator Caitlin O’Sullivan who joined us in October 2021.

Caitlin O'Sullivan, Marsden Sports Coordinator

Caitlin holds a Level 5 Diploma in Sport Recreation and Performance from the NZ Institute of Sport and completes her Level 6 Diploma in Sport, Exercise and Recreation specialising in Human Performance at the end of 2021. Caitlin grew up in Levin and attended Nga Tawa for four years before moving back home to be closer to her strength and conditioning coach. 

Study and Playing Netball

While studying Caitlin has been training and playing with the Central Manawa National Netball League Squad, and more recently the NZ Netball U21 Team. Caitlin is a netball coach (QMC Jnr A Netball Team) and a strength and conditioning coach for Hutt Valley Netball. She has also worked part-time as an Ambassador for Wellington Cricket and as a personal trainer.

Opportunities for Women in Sport

Caitlin is passionate about sport, particularly providing opportunities for women in sport, and is really excited to be joining the Marsden team. Caitlin will be working 3 days a week this term, while she finishes her Diploma, before moving to full-time in 2022. She will be primarily looking after sports for Year 1 to 8 students and all school netball during the winter season.

 

Caitlin’s top three character strengths are Kindness, Honesty, and Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence. She strives for all equal opportunities for all women in sport and the chance for everyone to have fun doing what they love.
