Emma Brinck has been Marsden School’s Marketing & Communications Manager since January 2022. In this role, she leads Marsden’s marketing and communications function, developing and executing strategies to support the school’s strategic and operational plans.

Emma's responsibilities include managing marketing campaigns and events to drive roll growth, ensuring the retention of Marsden families, and maintaining the school's reputation through clear and consistent communication with stakeholders. She also provides expert marketing and communications advice to the Principal and Senior Management Team, helping to shape Marsden’s offerings in line with customer expectations and business objectives.

Experience

Emma brings a wealth of experience to Marsden, having held senior roles in marketing and communications across various sectors. Before joining the school, she worked at the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) as an advisor in the Managed Isolation & Quarantine unit, where she provided high-quality advice and reporting to the National Operations Services branch. Prior to this, she was a Communications Executive at IPH, a leading intellectual property group in the Asia-Pacific region, where she developed internal and external communication strategies and supported investor relations.

For nearly two decades, Emma worked with AJ Park, one of New Zealand's top intellectual property law firms, where she played a pivotal role in developing and executing tactical marketing initiatives across multiple channels. Her expertise in branding, event management, and business development, combined with her strong communication skills, has been instrumental in her career.

Why Marsden?

Having grown up surrounded by family members passionate about education, the opportunity to work at Marsden resonated with Emma on a personal level, particularly because of the school’s commitment to nurturing the aspirations, capabilities, and potential of every student.

With a young daughter of her own, Emma was drawn to Marsden’s ethos of providing a well-rounded education that recognises and fosters individual strengths. She is dedicated to promoting an educational environment that mirrors her aspirations for her daughter—one that encourages excellence, resilience, and creativity.

Emma thrives on variety and the chance to engage in projects with clear, impactful outcomes. Her passion for storytelling and branding is central to her work, as she proactively seeks opportunities to highlight Marsden’s points of difference and communicate the school’s unique value to the wider community.

Whether it’s crafting compelling content, designing creative campaigns, or advising on strategic communications, Emma enjoys the hands-on nature of her work. The dynamic, community-focused environment at Marsden provides Emma with the perfect platform to leverage her marketing expertise while contributing to a cause she believes in.

Outside of work

Emma enjoys spending time with her partner and their daughter, travelling to visit family on the Kapiti Coast, and appreciating the balance of professional challenges and family life.
