Student Welfare
The welfare and happiness of our international students is a high priority at Marsden
International students at Marsden join regular learning programmes with local students and are fully immersed in the life of the school. Additional English language support is part of the timetable.
Both the Director of International Students and the Dean of International Students welcome all new arrivals and help them settle into our school.
Our orientation programme includes the following:
All students are supported by a team including the Director of International Students, Dean of International Students, Heads of School, Deans, form teachers, and the school nurse and counsellors.
Academic progress and personal wellbeing are monitored closely, and regular updates are provided to parents.
International students meet fortnightly as a group with our Dean of International Students to learn more about integrating into the New Zealand culture and get support for any questions they have about their learning, or life outside of school.
At Marsden, creativity, problem-solving, sustainability and wellbeing are at the heart of learning. For example, Year 10 international student Minkyung and classmate Amy worked together to design and create a beautiful Korean hancbok, using New Zealand food packaging. Read more ...
