Stunning day for Year 12-13 PE trip to Kapiti Island
What a stunning day Year 12 and 13 PE students had for their 'Worst case scenario' trip to Kapiti Island, as part of their NCEA unit on risk assessment.
From the moment they left school to the time they arrived back they were assessing potential risks to people, equipment, the environment. During their 4 hour tramp to the top and back (and what a view), on the boat and bus rides, they had to constantly think about what could potentially go wrong?
Fortunately nothing in reality did and they had an amazing time learning about Kapiti Island's history. It is now a protected nature/marine reserve that has been predator free since 1987 and is home to 1200 kiwis!
