Te Kākano – Year 8

Students will examine what makes relationships healthy and explore emotional literacy. This will be achieved through:

 

  • William Pike programme
  • Tree planting service day
  • Community service day
  • Activities day which includes kayaking and rock climbing
  • Water education day which includes sailing and paddle boarding
  • Camp in Nelson, South Island
  • Wellbeing activities within form and subject classes
  • Nurturing activity/Tree Planting


As part of the William Pike programme students will participate in a tree planting initiative somewhere in the Wellington region. This forms part of their service for the William Pike programme. The tree planting activity will be front loaded with teaching in Science around environmentalism, ecology and toitūtanga (sustainability).
